Children planting seedlingsFact: 45% of the Haitian population is illiterate, perpetuating a cycle of poverty

Response: Break the cycle through our innovative Child Sponsorship program.

This program provides an opportunity for children and their families to pay for their schooling, including the cost of tuition, uniform, and materials.

Children participate in a program that teaches good farming practices and they are introduced to Jesus Christ through Bible stories. Children are given seedlings throughout the program. The income generated from the sale of fruits and vegetables from these seedlings, if managed properly, will produce enough income to fund their education through 12th grade and beyond. These fruits and vegetables can also provide nourishment for their family.

Receiving seedlings

A gift of $40 will provide one child with the following:

  • 70+ plants and trees for growing and harvesting

  • Two years of Christian-based training in soil conservation and sustainable agriculture

  • Annual crops providing income to fund his or her education from first grade through college

  • Additional income for food to supplement their family's diet

Children receive their treesPoverty reduction can be achieved through literacy. With our Child Sponsorship program we aim to improve the lives of the next generation of Haitians and help them avoid the pitfalls that have plagued their ancestors. To date over 900 children have participated in our Child Sponsorship program.

We ask you to prayerfully consider sponsoring a child student. Please visit our Donate page for more information.
